Johnston Murphy has made quality shoes and I have been wearing them since the 60's. In recent years, they have been subject to size variation . I have also noticed that the Kiltie fringe moc toe shoe is not as sturdy or heavy duty as older ones I have in my closet. I like the heavier duty shoe a little better.

Q:I normally take a 7.5 regular width. It appears the Decatur saddle is not made in this size, but some reviewers comment how the shoe is too narrow (my foot is on the wide side). Would the size 8 be a suitable replacement, or is it gigantic?Asked on 9/20/2013 by Jim from New England
A:The size 8 on the Johnston & Murphy Decatur Saddle should work well. It is just a little larger than the 7.5 and will give you the extra width you are seeking.Answered on 9/21/2013 by Community Answer from None
