after trying every "5 last" size there is near my actual foot size, I realized AE Park Ave's weren't for me and i'd need to look elsewhere... This is the perfect alternative, with equal quality (and price point) plus a longer captoe which I like better. Made in America, super compfortable right out of the box.

Bought these shoes to go with a new custom tailored suit. They make the perfect pair. I should have sent the shoes back and gotten a B width instead of a D width. Other than MY mistake, the shoes are perfect and I would buy another pair of J & M's without hesitation.

The shoe itself is very comfortable and attractive. But, in under a year the sole of both shoes has a large hole in it. For a shoe costing almost $400.00 this is not acceptable.

The shoes are nice looking. They pinched the arch of my foot during the break-in period, but are now comfortable. The uppers are wearing well, but the soles are wearing through with only a year of wear. I bought this top of the line shoe because shoes recently purchased from J/M did not wear as well as older J/M shoes. It seems that their shoes just aren't made as well as they once were.

            • Q:

I have a relatively new pair of these shoes that I have only worn perhaps a dozen times. My house burned down yet these shoes were not burned, but have a heavy smoke smell to them. They still look brand new, and I am wondering if there is anything I can do to get the smell out of them. Any suggestions?

              • A:

You can try cleaning as best as possible, allowing them to air out, and then inserting fabric softener sheets into the shoes (or even into a zip lock bag with the shoes.)

                A:

Of the three widths mentioned, the "B" is the most narrow progressing up to the "D", which would be considered medium width.

The C fit is a bit wider than the "narrow" fit, but not quite as wide as a regular fit.

              • A:

There are a few differences between the two. The Georgetown has more lacing holes, has a cork midsole and is only available in black. The Hyde Park uses the Trampoline Cushioning System and is available in both Black Calf and Tan Calf.

                A:

The Hyde park is in the trampoline comfort system. It's comprised of two different densities of poron foam layered in the forefoot with a cork midsole and a heel to toe EVA foam. The Georgetown is in the crown aristocrat series and has a full cork foot bed. In my opinion the trampoline comfort system can't be beat. It's used in the custom select program as well which has more style, color, and size options available to you. If you're willing to spend the money on the Georgetown spend just a little more and get the custom select, the value for money us much better than the aristocrafts.

Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone

after trying every "5 last" size there is near my actual foot size, I realized AE Park Ave's weren't for me and i'd need to look elsewhere... This is the perfect alternative, with equal quality (and price point) plus a longer captoe which I like better. Made in America, super compfortable right out of the box.

I would like to see more orthotic material incorporated. If you have any amount of walking to do in the city, this is not the shoe for you. My feet and legs are sore after a day in the city.

I have a relatively new pair of these shoes that I have only worn perhaps a dozen times. My house burned down yet these shoes were not burned, but have a heavy smoke smell to them. They still look brand new, and I am wondering if there is anything I can do to get the smell out of them. Any suggestions?

You can try cleaning as best as possible, allowing them to air out, and then inserting fabric softener sheets into the shoes (or even into a zip lock bag with the shoes.)

Of the three widths mentioned, the "B" is the most narrow progressing up to the "D", which would be considered medium width.

There are a few differences between the two. The Georgetown has more lacing holes, has a cork midsole and is only available in black. The Hyde Park uses the Trampoline Cushioning System and is available in both Black Calf and Tan Calf.

Unfortunately, we cannot change the comfort system on this shoe. You should consider our Custom Select Bal Oxford Straight Tip (item no. 24-00021). All Custom Select Shoes come with the Trampoline Comfort System.

I'd like a great, long-lasting pair of dress shoes but it's not apparent what feature(s) differentiate several mens' shoe product lines (apart from $100 from each line to the next): Aristocraft vs Crown vs Custom.

I have a pair of Melton Cap Toes with 11 1/2 EEE sizing that fit well. I would like to try the Georgetown II Cap Toe, but 11 1/2 comes only in sizes B, C and D. What do suggest?

I personally would have to find a different shoe. Going from a EEE to D is not going to be comfortable for your feet.

Does your Georgetown II cap toe have a metal shank? They have in the past and were a problem at security at airports. Thanks
