Comments about Johnston & Murphy Round Readers:

I enjoy two different J&M readers. These and an amber colored frame, both of which garner me compliments each and every time I wear them. I have such trust in the quality and workmanship that I have had my very costly ($300.00 +) multi-focal lens, placed in both frames. There's a good feeling that comes when the optometrist realizes they won't be able to nick me for their obscenely high priced frames too. So, please buy them; enjoy them and be styling too.

Comments about Johnston & Murphy Round Readers:

These are a hip pair of round glasses. In a world of square glasses, it is hard to find a pair of glasses in this classic style. They are very well made, too. They have spring-hinges and the lenses fit nicely in the frame. Other readers that I have purchased have not lasted as long because the lenses did not stay in the frames. I have had these for about six months and they are still perfect.

I bought this glasses for the frames and my optometrist told me the space between the lenses is too big for my nose bridge. He explained the style, called keyhole, for the shape of the bridge, can't be adjusted. The space of the ones I bought is 21mm and I should use frames with 17mm or 19 mm space... Do you have this?

Could you please tell the actual "lens" size? NOT the size of the frames ie, 5inches width, or the S, M, L but the actual size of the width and height of the lens- this is how "normal" glasses are sold and sized.
If you are just going to tell me the S, M, and L information, this is not what I need to decide to purchase.
                Thank you,
                Craig

PS- are your reader frames available in the J&M stores?

The S, M, L option refers to the magnification of the reader. S=1.5, M=2.0, L=2.5. The readers are available in Johnston & Murphy stores.

                          • Q:

I wear bi focals. I assume I can have my prescription lenses placed in the frame? If that is so, does it matter whether I order S, M or L? If so which should I order?

I bought this glasses for the frames and my optometrist told me the space between the lenses is too big for my nose bridge. He explained the style, called keyhole, for the shape of the bridge, can't be adjusted. The space of the ones I bought is 21mm and I should use frames with 17mm or 19 mm space... Do you have this?

                          • Q:

Could you please tell the actual "lens" size? NOT the size of the frames ie, 5inches width, or the S, M, L but the actual size of the width and height of the lens- this is how "normal" glasses are sold and sized.
If you are just going to tell me the S, M, and L information, this is not what I need to decide to purchase.
                            Thank you,
                            Craig

PS- are your reader frames available in the J&M stores?

The S, M, L option refers to the magnification of the reader. S=1.5, M=2.0, L=2.5. The readers are available in Johnston & Murphy stores.
