Comments about Johnston & Murphy WATTS HARNESS BOOT:

I wear this boot to work with courds or with jeans for a night out. The boots are comfortable, go great with brown or black tops and look fantastic. My only complaint is that they are a little tricky to get used to getting into. Once you master that, it isn't an issue. One of the best boots I have purchased from J&M and I own 4 other pairs currently.

Comments about Johnston & Murphy WATTS HARNESS BOOT:

I want to make sure that it is clear that I really love these boots. they look great and feel great ande were awesome for the winter in teh norht east this year.

I did have some trouble in breaking them in. I had gone to a Johnson Murphy store to try them on and realized I needed a half size bigger to be comfortable. I orderd them on line and got them vwery quick. I wore them around the house for a day or so and then decided that they were ready. Big mistake! The leather at the bakc wasnt read for a trip throigh NYC subways and bar hopping. It was very ridgid and the top of my heal rubbed up against it all nioght. I lost a layer of skin on both feet!!
I was in pain and couldnt wear any shoe comfortably for a week. I decided to try and break in these boots in slowly and was glad i did. They feel great and look great

Ordered 10.5 and couldn't get my foot in. Sent them back for an 11.5 but nothing in stock.

          Service and delivery comments:

The delivery lead time was very long - 10 days or so. When I finally received the boots they were too small. I sent them back asking for a bigger size. I had to chase receipt 2 weeks later. 3 days after my email the J&M agent emailed me to say I had a credit against my account rather than the boots I requested. When I complained that I wanted my money back or bigger boots, they credited me.

The shipping time and customer service reaction time is just too long. Take a leaf out of Zappos' book guys!

Usually wear a 9.5. Sometimes when I buy shoes from J&M I need to get a 10. What should I order in these boots, 9.5 or 10?

I normally wear a narrow width in your shoes. Since I will be wearing heavier socks with the boot, will the medium width still be too wide?

              A:

The Watts Harness Boot is not waterproof or water resistant. We recommend using the Leather Protector (item no. 93-400), which will help prevent rain/snow stains. This boot is not mean to last through several inches of snow.

These shoes have a deep tread on the bottom, so they should work great on a snowy day.
