Good looking shoe, hurts the foor

The Pros - good looking shoe, pairs well with everything from shorts to jeans, Khakis, and some slacks. Cons - the stitching where the tongue meets the body creates abrasion on the little toe. I took it to Europe and by the end of the first day walking, my little toe was nearly bleeding. Unfortunately, this was the only shoe I carried. The only way I could wear it for the rest of my trip was to tape up my little toe. Even with that my toe has developed a callus and it hurts. I've worn many J&M shoes but this is the first time I've had this issue.

Good looking shoe - very uncomfortable

I bought this shoe for my recent trip to Europe, thinking this will pair well with shorts, jeans, and dark khakhis, saving me the trouble of carrying multiple shoes. First the Pros. They are good looking and well-made. They lasted the 10-day trip, with over 12000 - 15000 steps a day over cobblestones and pavements, and held up well. They look good with a wide range of outfits. The Cons: They are extremely uncomfortable. The seam where the tongue is stitched to the main body rubs against the little toe. By the end of the first day of wearing them, my little toe was almost on the verge of bleeding due to abrasion. Changing socks did not help either. Unfortunately, I had carried only this pair of shoes and the only way I could wear them was after wrapping my toe in medical tape. Even with that, my toe has developed a callus. I hate to throw a new pair of shoes away but I can't wear them. I've had Johnston & Murphy shoes before but never had a problem with them. Severely disappointed with this pair.

REALLY? Can't find long enough laces?

My McGuffey Lace-to Toes arrived and they are great looking shoes. The laces, however simply are NOT long enough to tie effectively. While they only need to add an additional two inches or so, it's annoying. J&M said they can't do anything about laces and I'd need to buy myself from another vendor. GREAT SERVICE, J&M!!

    Comfort & good quality, but...

I love the style very comfortable, but I have to agree with a previous comment. The laces also broke and J&M doesn't carry replacement laces in this style. It's a shame! oh and be aware they squeak! and OMG they are loud!

    Super Comfortable and Gorgeous

Whatever leather this is, JM hit the mark in a solid way. Out-of-the-box comfort. Very soft and supple leather. The burnishing really styles them up and can be worn with jeans or khakis.

    Very comfortable

I'd referred to the McGuffey as the most comfortable shoes I've work in years - and I am very happy with them. I'd have rated them a 5-star but a lace broke and J&M doesn't carry replacement laces in this style. That's just absurd.

    Fits wide and rough inside

I started with my usual size, tried to wear them but they were huge. Exchanged for a size smaller, fit in length but still sloppy. I was traveling and needed them or I would have just returned them. They are super rough inside and not comfortable to wear. My feet hurt after walking through the airport.

    Soft leather but no padding/cushion.

Great looking shoe. The leather is perfect, however, there is not enough padding. I feel like I’m walking bare footed. What happened JM???
